Plans to put a new roof on Spark Bridge Village Hall were approved by Lake District National Park planners.

Barrow Senior Citizens' Clubs would receive £15,000 from cash left over after the winding up and closure of the Infield Convalescent Home, off Abbey Road, Barrow. The 45-room home was a gift of the Vickers shipyard in 1921. It was sold to property developers for £20,000.
