1 A NEW vegan fair is coming to Barrow on December 9th, the event is organised by Farplace Animal Rescue charity. The fair will be held in St. Matthew’s Community Hall and the event will cost £1 on the door, entry for children is free.

2 Barrow Comedy Club are hosting their latest and final comedy night of 2018 with the Stand-up For Local Charities night at The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, the proceeds for the event will go to supporting Barrow Foodbank. Those planning on attending are also encouraged to bring items of food to be donated to the foodbank. Suggested donations, include tinned food, toiletries, cleaning products and baby items.

The event takes place tonight (December 6th) and will be a mixture of amateur and semi-professional comedians.

The comedy night starts at 8pmm tickets cost £2 each and can be purchased directly from The Duke of Edinburgh or online from TicketSource.

3The Salvation Army Band will be in Barrow Town Centre on Friday December 7th from 11am until 3pm playing traditional Christmas music .Jenni White will also be performing from 1pm on Portland Walk, come enjoy some musical entertainment from talented musicians in the community.

4 ABBA MANIA will be at The Forum on Friday December 7th, the renowned ABBA tribute act will be performing some of the bands greatest hits including ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Voulez Vous’, ‘Dancing Queen.' Tickets cost £25 each and the event starts at 7.30 Pm

5 Barrow AFC play at home to Maidstone United, the match is at 3pm on Saturday December 8th. Ticket information can be found on Barrow AFC's website.

6 Santa Clause is returning to Ulverston with his big red bus for another weekend of festive fun. Children will get the chance to meet and chat to Santa, as well as receive a present from the big man. Admission is £4 each and the bus will be there from 10.30am until 3pm.

7 Ulverston Band will be in Barrow town centre on Saturday December 8th, they will be playing traditional Christmas music for residents and visitors, enjoy a Christmas tune whilst you shop. The band will be playing from 11am until 1pm.

8 The Barrow Park Walk for Health is back, the walk, which is approximately 2 miles takes place in Barrow Park. Starting at the bandstand at 2.30pm on Sunday December 9th. This free event is run by Nicholas Emerson from 'Lose Weight, Feel Great & Get Healthy' and Diane Singleton from 'DS Fitness.' The walk welcomes participants of all abilities and fitness levels.

9 Dowdales School are hosting their European Christmas Market tonight (Thursday). The market will be held in the school hall and include stalls selling homemade Christmas presents and treats, cakes, stocking fillers and much more. Mulled wine and mince pies will also be available and Santa will be making a special appearance. 10 The Forum Theatre in Barrow will be hosting Twilight Afternoon Tea at Christmas, the event includes guest performances from Ailsa McIntosh. Enjoy the Christmas stalls offering a variety of cakes and other sweet treats as well as a number of festive gifts such as candles, cards and gift tags.
