A LUXURY Crystalware company who hosted a well-known celebrity blowing a glass bauble when she visited last month have collaborated with a hotel to launch a £400 cocktail.

Cumbria Crystal and The Samling Hotel in the Lake District have teamed up to create house cocktail 22.5.

The jaw-dropping drink will be served in a champagne flute crafted by Cumbria Crystal and include high quality champagne.

The mixture will include tea infusions and The Samling’s own wildflower honey.

Guests who buy the cocktail can keep their crystal flute.

Cumbria Crystal is the last producer of completely hand-blown and hand-cut luxury English crystal in the UK.

Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith visited the renowned complex in Canal Head in Ulverston last month.

Chris Blade, CEO of Cumbria Crystal, said it is an honour to collaborate with The Samling Hotel.

He said: “This is a unique collaboration with local businesses, The Samling is one of the highest quality places in the Lake District.

“It is wonderful that we will supply them with the champagne flute crystal and the whole experience will be full to the highest quality.

“Each crystal takes 10-12 days to craft because we do not compromise on the quality we use."

He added: “We have provided crystal for royal families throughout the world and for Downtown Abbey.

"It is fantastic that a luxurious local hotel has chosen us to create the best customer experience.

“The fantastic alcohol that is being used along with our quality of crystal is what makes the cocktail so unique for customers who want the best.”

The Samling Hotel is a Lake District venue known for it's high-end quality.

In 2017 the hotel's wine list was awarded two stars by the World of Fine Wine Magazine.

This has placed their wine list in the top 500 lists in the world.

Heather James, Marketing Manager at the Samling Hotel said working with local businesses to provide the best experience is vital to people coming to the Lake District.

She said: "The drink oozes quality throughout.

"We have teamed up with Cumbria Crystal because they are an excellent company to provide the best grade of crystal.

"It is vital for that people coming to our hotel can see that the Lake District is unique and a wonderful place.

"The whole quality experience is being in the Lakes and it is great that local companies can work together to provide the best experience."
