The Mail invited children from the choir at St James' Church of England Junior School to write their own articles about how much they enjoy performing.

Bethan, age nine, wrote:

“I love choir and I have been in a choir for over four years now.

“We enjoy all of the songs that we sing.

"We also now know how to listen to and watch a conductor.

“My favourite songs we sing are Miracle Child and the songs from the Greatest Showman.

“We all enjoy choir and get good feelings while singing.

“I really like performing because we meet really nice people.

“My choir have performed with/at: St James Church, Trinity Church, Radio Cumbria, Voce, Male Voice Choir, Station View and my favourite place we have been to sing is the Forum 28 to be in the musical, the Tempest.

“I also enjoy performing because of all the positive comments we receive from the people who watched us sing.”
