The Mail invited children from the choir at St James' Church of England Junior School to write their own articles about how much they enjoy performing.

Lacey, aged nine, said she has already exercised her vocal chords many different venues and was looking forward to Wednesday’s service.

“I really enjoy choir and I have been in it for over four years now,” she said.

“I like singing in groups and having harmonies.

“The most amazing thing in choir is when you perform you always get positive comments that makes me feel happy and proud of myself and the choir.

“We have performed in many different places with many different people such as: St James Church, Trinity Church, Station View and with Voce and the Male Voice Choir.

“My two favourites were in The Forum 28 and the Radio Cumbria Carol Service.

“I love choir because my favourite film is The Greatest Showman and we sang Greatest Showman sings and lots of other amazing songs,

“In choir I have learnt how to pronounce words and watch a conductor.”
