A modern hair and beauty salon which offers a range of exciting new treatments has launched in the heart of Barrow.

Attractions Hair and Beauty Salon officially opened its doors to the public this week amid long-waited anticipation.

Owner and manager, Kay Bell, bought the building to fulfil her dream of opening a salon.

She said: "This is a great investment for us. The event was so successful and we're really pleased about how it's turned out.

"We're still looking to recruit more staff whilst we find our feet."

Hairdressers, Samantha Smith and Anni Askew, are delighted with the new space.

Mrs Smith, whose been hairdressing for 18 years said: "We're so happy with the new salon, we just want it to be successful.

"We know it's going to be a really good addition to the community."

Massage therapist, Amy Lilly, hopes the new salon will increase her clientele.

She said: "It's going to be nice having a salon base as well as being mobile.

"Being mobile means I can visit the homes of those who perhaps can't come to the salon like customers suffering with myalgia or MS but equally having a base will mean my clients can easily come to the office too. It's the best of both worlds.

"We were all so surprised at how many people came along, we didn't expect to see that good of a turn out!"
