MILLOM library is hosting a composting session on Friday 12th April.
The forthcoming event called Compost Critters will be held between 2-4pm and will see attendees taken through quick and simple methods of how they can properly dispose of everyday biowaste in a more efficient way.
Attending children will also learn all about 'creepy crawlies' on a micro level: for example, how bugs turn food waste and garden waste into useful compost for plant growth and garden nutrition.
Through the use of a computer screen, using a USB microscope, attendees - both children and parents alike - will see with the naked eye how these micro creatures work as a unit to utilise the public's biowaste and turn it into organic matter.
Other information at the event will include a step-by-step guide of 'how to make your own wormery'.
There will also be tips on how to get a discounted compost bin.
