Ryan Shaw is set to return for Barrows trip to York City Knights tomorrow while Matty Costello is recalled by parent club Salford.

Goal kicking expert Shaw has been side-lined for several weeks with a ligament injury but has been given an all clear to play.

Winger Shane Toal is unavailable, so the timing is right for Shaw to return.

Hakim Miloudi given a one match ban for an incident in the Halifax game is clear to play with the ban coming into effect next weekend

Jarrad Sammut stepped in with the goal kicking duties in Shaws absence and whether he continues in this role will be decided by Coach Paul Crarey.

The Barrow boss is anticipating another tough encounter on the back of a 43-18 defeat at the hands of Halifax on Monday night.

He said ahead of the trip into Yorkshire: “We have to up our game if we are to get the points. It will be another difficult game against a team in form.

"It was a disappointing result against Halifax, we never showed the enthusiasm as them, it was a bad defeat and a very poor performance.

"We have to start playing the kind of rugby that we have done on several occasions and put in performances that we did against Leigh, Widnes and Workington lately.

"We scored plenty of points in those games but were well off the mark against Halifax.

"Players will come into the squad refreshed with some taking a break.”

One player Crarey is looking to rest is warhorse Carl Forster a decision he has to make tomorrow morning (Saturday).

Forster has been a tower of strength this campaign and when on the field he leads by example, however he has been carrying a niggling injury of late.

Gary Wheeler, Danny Morrow, Charlie Emslie, and Ryan Johnston are included in Crarey's 21-man squad.

Tom Hopkins and Dan Toal who both took knocks to the head have been cleared to play.

York go into their game on the back of a 40-16 win at Whitehaven and are third in the table. With just three defeats in 16 games.
