Jake Carter is added to Barrows squad as they prepare to take on the Bradford Bulls at Craven Park kick off 3pm.

The young half back is in contention for a re-call though Coach Paul Crarey is likely to go with a similar 17 that pulled off that great win at Sheffield last weekend (36-32).

A few of the players have picked up infections due to burns from the Astro turf surface at Sheffield and Crarey will take stock this morning (Saturday) before finalising his 17 men to take on the Bulls.

Crarey is expecting another tough eighty minutes against a side that were crushed 53-10 at Newcastle and 30-12 at home to London Broncos last Sunday.

The Barrow boss said: “Like all teams Bradford are having a bad run but they will bounce back as they have several top line players.

“Ourselves we are having a good run and last week’s win was nothing less than fantastic.

“You have to consider that we took over three hours to get to the ground on a hot bus then having to face temperatures of over 30%.

“To pull back from 32-30 to win 36-32 shows what a great bunch of players we have.

“We are now in a position that we have no fear of fighting off relegation, no pressure at all, though a little pressure to finish in the top six for a playoff position.

“The lads have been unbelievable especially on the road, just two defeats at Halifax and Featherstone.

“Our fans have also been fantastic home and away and we want to put on a good a show for them.”

Barrow won in a dramatic finish at Odsal earlier in the year 23-22 after building up a big lead only for the Bulls to draw level at 22-22 before Jarrad Summat dropped a late goal.

Bradford is out of sorts since sacking Coach John Kear replacing him with Mark Dunning with former GB Coach Brian Noble on hand as a consultant.

However, they have several ex-Super-League players in their squad.

The likes of half backs Dec Patton and Jordan Lilley while prop forward and Welsh International Ben Evans faces players that he will be team mate’s next season.

17-year-old George Flanagan made his debut at full back against the Broncos playing alongside his dad 40-year-old George senior.

Barrow officials are keen to break the 3,000 barriers at Craven Park for the first time this campaign.
