Barrow Island were made to fight all the way against a stubborn Beverley side before running out 20-10 winners.

Barrow Island are still third in the Conference second division.

The Humbersiders went ahead early in the game with a Josh Poskitt try and conversion 0-6.

Island hit back with a try from Max Moore courtesy of an Adam Jackson neat pass, Jackson failed to convert 4-6.

Moore returned the compliment minutes later when he chipped over the cover for Jackson to hack on and touchdown, he also tagged on the goal 10-6.

Then a swift pass was intercepted by Sam Jones who raced in from eighty meters, Jackson adding the goal 16-6.

Jackson then sent a drop out from under his own posts 98 meters ably assisted by a strong wind to find touch two meters from the Beverley line. 

The Humbersiders reduced the arrears with a Dan Robinson try prior to Dan Wright sealing victory with a late try.

Millom were on the wrong end of an 84-16 score-line at Waterhead in division three.

The home side were head 40-0 before Kian McPherson touched down followed by Jackson Evans who added one goal

The Oldham side continued the onslaught with Millom crossing through Jade Lupton with Jack Newbiggin converting.

In the NWML Walney went down 38-6 at Salford, Jake Deveraux crossed for a consolation try.

Bury Bronocs failed to send a team to Dalton.

In the Barrow leagues Frank Reid cup, Barrow Island beat Hindpool 32-4 while Dalton failed to raise a team for their scheduled game with Ulverston.

On Friday Barrow Island are home to Millom while Dalton are home to Ulverston in the top four semi-finals.

In the NWML Walney are home to West Bank while Ulverston go to St Cuthberts.
