A LAKES road has been ranked among the most popular road trip destinations in the UK.
New research by Comparethemarket’s motor team has looked at the most searched for road trips in the UK to reveal the best, and most popular places, to head to.
Hardknott Pass, located between Eskdale and the Duddon Valley in the Lake District National Park, was ranked third in the top ten list.
It was ranked after Snake Pass in Derbyshire and the North Coast in Scotland which was ranked at the top.
The table below shows the road trips with the highest monthly search volume in the UK:
- North Coast 500: Scotland: 40,500
- Snake Pass: England: 22,200
- Hardknott Pass: England: 12,100
- Buttertubs Pass: England: 9,900
- The Causeway Coastal Route: Northern Ireland: 3,600
- Wrynose Pass: England: 2,400
- The Coastal Way: Wales: 1,900
- Road to the Isles: Scotland: 1,300
- Black Mountain Road: Wales: 1,000
- The Atlantic Highway: England: 880
