CUMBRIA Road Watch has published a list of roads that will likely face disruption during the Fred Whitton Challenge weekend (Saturday 6 to Sunday 7 May).
Cyclists will set off from Grasmere and pedal round a 112-mile sportive across the Lake District.
The following roads that will likely face disruption due to the large pelotons of cyclists are as follows:
A591
A592
A66
B5289 via Borrowdale
B5292
A5086
A595
Hardknott Pass
Wrynose Pass
B5343
A593
Cumbria Road Watch is a volunteer group which posts updates on the status of traffic and travel across the region's road network.
It requested that drivers plan extra time to account for the challenge, as the roads are likely to be slow-moving while the event is ongoing.
The Wheelbase Fred Whitton Challenge is one of the most difficult cycling sportives in the UK.
All the Lakeland passes are used for the challenge, with the steepest being a 30 per cent gradient.
