A children's rugby team in Millom were left 'disgusted' after finding their training pitch had been covered in 'dog mess'.
The young players at Millom Mini Rugby League were looking to make a return to the back pitches at Coronation Field last week after their Winter break.
A spokesperson from the club, which caters for players aged between six and 16, described how it was not the first time the problem had arisen.
They said: "Please can we kindly ask that people do not use this for anything other than what it is supposed to be used for.
"Children as young as six years old have to play on the pitch and it is disgusting for any age to have to deal with and can cause risk to people's health."
They reminded residents that the field is not for 'letting dogs run around or to go to the bathroom'.
