The Holiday Inn, Market Street

Kayla f said:- "Fabulous one night stay in February."

"What a find! Reception is amazing, staff friendly and helpful. There is fruit free to grab. A menu available and some 24/7.
"The room was spotless and clean. Breakfast self serve was fantastic with lots of choice from a cooked breakfast, fruit and cereals.

"Self serve coffee machines with option to take away. The hotel itself was clean, light and airy. Couldn’t fault anything at all and the price was fabulous. Very quiet area so not too many people. Definitely recommend."

Victoria House, Albert Place South

The Mail: Victoria House at Albert PlaceStephen A - "Lovely stay in Barrow."

"I have been to Barrow In Furness many times, but this is the best place I have stayed in so far.

"A lovely hotel with a lot of character and lovely hosts too. The snooker table was a big bonus for my son and I and helped us pass the hours in the early evening before bed.

"All in all a great little place to stay and a joy to be away from the regular hotel chains where we usually stay. Also the Wi-Fi worked a treat so no sulky son was a massive added bonus too."

West Point House, Solway Drive, Walney Island

"Really comfortable and very clean. The garden was beautiful and the staff were really friendly.
The location was in a good place and really close to the beaches.

"The wife loved it. Will definitely visit again."

Millwood Lodge & Holiday Cottage, Millwood Lane

The Mail: Millwood LodgeStewart B said: "Fantastic property and a warm welcome."

"We stayed at the lodge for 3 nights over new year with a group of friends and what a fantastic house this is.

"The hard work of the owners to turn derelict buildings into such a warm, comfortable and well appointed space is evident throughout.

"A personal warm welcome and flexibility on the leaving time on New Year’s day were much appreciated as was the kind gesture of a couple of bottles in the fridge for us.

"The weather wasn’t kind to us but the log fire already set up got us warm and cosy very quickly. I’d certainly recommend this place to any group looking for something a little different with easy access to the South Lakes and the Cumbrian coast."

Abbey Apartments, Abbey Road

The Mail: Anthony N said: "Home from home."

"We stayed here our first 2 nights of road trip to the lakes and Scotland. Check-in is done independently; with easy to follow instructions for access to your apartment key and room.

"The apartment is very well appointed and modern. It smelt really nice on entry too. A small thing you could argue; but first impressions count.

"There’s good living space for 4 adults over 2 bedrooms, one with an en-suite.

"The kitchen is fully equipped, including white goods. Think self-catering if you’re using the Facilites for more than a few days though. Washing powders, foodstuffs etc...these aren’t included, with the exception of coffee, tea, milk and sugar.

"TV, satellite included.

"This is a very well-managed operation. We’d use again on subsequent trips."
