Details have been released about how Barrow's town centre will take shape for the upcoming Dave Day celebrations.

Barrow will become the destination of a remembrance procession made up of thousands of motorcycles on June 8 in honour of Dave Myers.

The Mail:

The TV chef and Hairy Baker was proud to call Barrow his home town, and it will be the turn of locals to return that affection as they remember his life.

Celebrations will centre around Barrow Town Hall, with a service of remembrance and free family entertainment taking place.

The main stage and centre point of the event will be located on the Town Square, directly outside the Town Hall and the Forum Theatre, with performances scheduled to commence at 4:00pm.

A food court will be located in the Courtyard at the rear of the Town Hall with a wide variety of local vendors, several who have worked with Dave on various projects.

The route of the motorcycle procession will be via the A590 from the M6, turning left onto Park Road at entry into Barrow and proceeding to the town centre via Abbey Road.

Large crowds are expected to line the streets to support the procession, with people asked to remain on the pavement at all times.

Traffic delays are understandably expected, with some road closures set to be in operation.

Free parking facilities will be provided in and around the town centre for those in the motorcycle procession, with on-site marshals on hand to provide directions.

Due to road closures to support the event, the nearest bus stops to the Town Hall will be at Ramsden Square, whilst town centre car parks will be in operation.

You can donate to the GoFundMe page here, with the target of £10,000 already in sight.

There is also the chance to buy official Dave Day merchandise, which can be found here.

More information about the full event schedule will be released closer to the time.
