A dog groomers in Barrow has been forced to implement a late collection fee for its customers.

Furness Abbey Dog Grooming has introduced the charge after some customers have arrived over an hour late to collect their pets.

The fee, announced yesterday (May 2) on the salon's social media, will take effect immediately.

The post on the Facebook page read: "Following a series of clients leaving their dogs with us 1hr+ after we've called for collection we are implementing a fee for late pick ups.

"This will increase for every 15 minutes that the dog is not picked up after the initial collecting time given.

"We do however consider individual travel times.

"We simply don’t have the space to accommodate extra time in our salon."
