THE top two will be aiming to steal a march on each other when the Furness Premier League Premier Division returns to action tomorrow.
Croftlands Park and Kirkby United go into tomorrow’s fixtures away to Holker Old Boys reserves and at home to Swarthmoor Social respectively deadlocked on 25 points.
However, it is 2017 champions Croftlands who have the edge thanks to a goal difference of plus-33, compared to Kirkby’s plus-25.
United go into the match on the back of a nine-game unbeaten run, thanks in part to the goals of Matt Bruce and Sam Pinnegor, who have scored 11 each so far this season.
Meanwhile, Croftlands are aiming to rebound from a league defeat to defending champions Hawcoat Park reserves and a penalty shootout loss to Haverigg United in the Terry Clinton Memorial Trophy.
Haverigg face a mid-table clash with Britannia tomorrow, while third-placed Hawcoat make the trip to Vickerstown reserves.
Dalton United reserves are at home to Furness Cavaliers reserves in the battle of the bottom two, Barrow Celtic aim to keep up their pursuit of the leaders away to Bootle and Walney Island reserves play host to Millom reserves.
In Division One, the pick of the day’s matches sees the top two of Bridge United and Hawcoat Park A go head-to-head.
