EMIE Seward was named as one of three rising stars in the county at last night’s Cumbria Sports Awards ceremony.
The eight-year-old from Millom has continued to show her talent in the world of BMX racing throughout the year, clinching the British Championship for the second year running.
Seward is now ranked second in Europe for her age group and was again selected to represent the country in this year’s World Championships in Azerbaijan, where she finished fourth.
The rising star awards are given to young athletes who have demonstrated their potential throughout the year, with Seaton karate star Elliott Hodgson and Carlisle golfer Archie Davies being the other two honoured at the event in Windermere.
