Barrow AFC have once again teamed up with the Bluebirds Trust and local Barrow schools for their annual Christmas Foodbank Appeal.

Donations can be delivered to the club’s offices at their Holker Street ground, while AFC chairman Paul Hornby will continue the tradition of doubling the amount which will be raised by the supporters.

Hornby said: “The Foodbank Appeal in association with the football club and Supporters Trust has been hugely successful in previous years and it is something which we really want to continue and build upon.

“Our club is all about community and there is no better time than Christmas to think about how we can really help others, so this year we are going to give it that extra push which will include the players and management of Barrow AFC.”

Any school in the Furness area wishing to make donations can have them collected by Barrow AFC staff on the afternoon of Friday 14 December.

Alternatively, the club are happy to take donations to be dropped off at their reception by that date, with opening hours between 9am and 4pm on weekdays.

Bluebirds Trust Steve Herbert said: “It’s great that Paul Hornby has agreed to carry this on.

“Last year the schools, fans and club provided well over a thousand meals. It’s also a good chance to provide little extras for things like selection boxes etc.”
