The accolades keep coming for Barrow’s Georgia Stanway this season, after she was named as December’s FA Women’s Super League player of the month.
The 20-year-old Manchester City striker finished ahead of West Ham duo Alisha Lehmann and Julia Simic and Chelsea’s Magdelena Ericsson after a month in which she scored four goals in four games.
Stanway said: “It was a special month for me and an important one for the team.
“Thank you to all of the staff and players at City - it’s a team game and I couldn’t have done it without them.”
