JUST A Par is the highest-rated of the two entries Cartmel trainer James Moffatt holds for this year’s Grand National.

The 12-year-old was ranked 77th of the 110 provisional entries carrying 9st 12lb at this afternoon’s weights reveal.

Highland Lodge, who ran in the 2017 Grand National for the Pit Farm Stables handler, is 100th carrying 9st 5lb.

Moffatt and the owners must now decide whether both will stand their ground for the first scratchings deadline, which falls on Tuesday, February 26.

The next scratchings deadline is March 19, followed by the five-day confirmations on April 1 and the final 40-runner entry list being revealed at 10am on April 4.

Meanwhile, Moffatt is set for a swift return to action after the British Horseracing Authority gave the go-ahead for racing to resume tomorrow following an outbreak of equine flu.

The Cartmel-based trainer has Mega Double entered in the 2.20 Betway Mares Maiden Hurdle at Musselburgh tomorrow afternoon, aiming to build on her second place at Catterick last month.

Altruism and Boruma are due to head to Scotland as well on Thursday for races at Kelso.

Meanwhile, Dagian and Grand National entrant Just A Par both hold entries for hurdle races at Haydock this Saturday.
