GEORGIA Stanway has retained her place in the England squad for the 2019 SheBelieves Cup in the USA later this month.
The 23-player squad will meet up in London this weekend before heading across the Atlantic for the tournament, which gets under way for the Lionesses when they face Brazil in Philadelphia on Wednesday, February 27
That is followed by them facing the hosts in Nashville three days later and Japan in Tampa on Tuesday, March 5.
Barrow hot-shot Stanway was part of the squad for last year’s tournament, but did not feature in any of the matches.
However, the 20-year-old went on to be one of the stars of the 2018 Under-20 Women’s World Cup and scored on her debut for the senior team against Austria last year.
Stanway is one of 10 Manchester City players named in the squad and England Women manager Phil Neville is pleased with the options he has at his disposal.
“The quality and depth of the squad is so deep now, which makes selecting 23 players a difficult task,” said Neville, whose side are preparing for this summer’s World Cup.
“We’re all looking forward to meeting up and everyone is ready and raring to go. These are exciting times ahead and this is a huge year for the Lionesses.”
