GEORGIA McSkimmings led the way as Barrow Celtic’s under-12 got the better of their under-11 clubmates when the sides went head-to-head in the South Lakes Girls League.
McSkimmings netted twice for the older age group in the match at Ormsgill Recreation Ground to put her team on their way to a 5-0 win.
Devon Cairns, Helena Muldoon and Skye Pelter added one apiece for Celtic under-12s, with the team now third in the standings and keeping tabs on the top two of Morecambe and Dalton, having a game in hand on both teams.
Dalton’s under-11s were victorious against one of the older teams in the division in the other game of the weekend, triumphing 5-0 at home to Wattsfield United.
And it was a similar story in the under-14s competition as Dalton’s under-13s scored a resounding 9-1 win away to Wattsfield United.
Meanwhile, Dalton United’s unbeaten under-14s are waiting to find out the date for their Lancashire FA Girls County Youth Cup semi-final.
The team have been drawn away to Hindley, with the winners facing either Blackpool or Preston North End in the decider.
There was one game in the Barrow & District Junior League over last weekend, with Vickerstown defeating clubmates Vickerstown Blues 10-0 in the under-14s competition.
There are several matches in the under-12s competition this Saturday, with the league and cups resuming fully the first weekend in March.
