GRAHAM Hartley got the crucial goal as Bootle stayed top of the Furness Premier League Premier Division with a 1-0 win over Walney Island reserves.

Kirkby United are still hot on their heels as they beat Vickerstown reserves 3-2, with Sam Pinnegor (2) and Paul Cleasby scoring for Kirkby. Danny Douglas and Max Green replied for Vickerstown.

Croftlands Park beat Millom reserves 3-2 thanks to Chris Wraighte (2) and Matt Dean.

Zak Parker bagged a hat-trick in Barrow Celtic’s 6-2 win against Hawcoat Park reserves, where Stu Thompson, Hugh McParland and Jack Dulgnan were also on target. Ryan Brown and Mike Wilkes replied in vain for Hawcoat.

Dalton United reserves picked up a point at home following a 1-1 draw against Haverigg United. Anthony Foster scored for Haverigg and Ben Thompson was the Dalton marksman.

Britannia beat basement-dwellers Furness Cavaliers reserves 5-0 thanks to Ross Walker (2) Luke Vandome (2) and Aaron Archer.

Swarthmoor Social lost 5-2 at home to Holker Old Boys reserves, with the visitors’ goals coming from Stephen Forbes (2), David Cook (2) and George Balm. Luke Armstrong scored both of Swarthmoor’s efforts.

In Division One, Barrow Wanderers kept up their great form by beating Celtic reserves 6-0, where Jed Wilkinson bagged a hat-trick. Jordan Wallace added two and Danny Mackay one.

British Legion lost ground on the leaders in a 3-0 defeat to Bridge United, with Sam Davies, Callum McGrady and Josh Harris Bridge’s scorers.

Furness Rovers reserves inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Askam United reserves, with Owen Woodburn, Rob While, Jack Smith and Liam Cunningham netting and 16-year-old Taylor Gill catching the eye with an impressive debut.

Croftlands reserves beat Millom A 5-1 thanks to Isaac Prosser (3) Taylor Birch and Sam Metcalf, Mark O’Brien replied for Millom.

Crooklands Casuals reserves may be bottom of the table, but they overcame Swarthmoor reserves 4-1 as Joe Braun Smith and Jake Stiendl grabbed two apiece.

Hawcoat Park A are still in the title hunt following their 5-2 win over Vickerstown A team. Jack Milburn (3) Ryan Muncaster (2) and Matthew Hackett were the Hawcoat scorers, while Vickerstown stalwart Phil Athersmith was on target along with Ian Rogers.

In Division Two, Ulverston Rangers reserves beat Furness Rovers A 2-0 with goals from Caine Taylor and a penalty from Oliver Forlizzi.

Britannia reserves put five past Millom St James without reply, with Danny Logan, Joe Geddling, Ceri Thomas, Ryan Wilson, Declan Wallis getting one piece.

Danny Munroe (2) and Ricky Donaghue were the goal scorers in Haverigg reserves’ 3-0 win over Bootle reserves.

Walney A drew 1-1 with Coniston, with Dane Townsend on target for Walney and Jason Grave scoring for Coniston.
