A HISTORIC first Test match with Tonga and a first match in Papua New Guinea for 23 years are among the highlights of Great Britain's return to the international rugby league stage.

The itinerary for the Lions' first Southern Hemisphere tour in over a decade includes two Tests against New Zealand as well.

Great Britain will kick off the 2019 tour with their first-ever Test against Tonga at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton on October 26, followed by facing New Zealand at Eden Park on November 2.

The second match with the Kiwis is in Christchurch on November 9 and the tour concludes with a showdown against Papua New Guinea at Oil Search Stadium in Port Moresby on November 16.

Meanwhile, BARLA have confirmed their under-19 Lions team will be touring the Southern Hemisphere in October and November too, with the destination to be confirmed.

Applications are open for team coaching and support roles. For more information, email chair Sue Taylor at secretary@barla.org.uk.
