For the second time this season, Millom were beaten in the final few minutes at home to Hunlset Warriors to leave them winless so far in National Conference League Division Three.

Millom broke out the blocks the quickest, racing into an 18-0 lead with only 15 minutes on the clock. The first score came from Furness Raiders and Scotland under-19s star in Charlie Emslie after he crashed over from close range, followed by Ross Brookes converting.

Paul Carter then rolled back the years to score two tries in as many minutes as Millom ran riot up the middle early on and with Brookes converting both, it seemed as though the Woolybacks may finally break their duck.

However, the visitors responded quickly when Jordan Gale wriggled his way out of three tacklers to score near the sticks and Daryl Grant converted.

The Warriors continued to grow into the match and they were rewarded again on 32 minutes when Dillon Thornton hit a brilliant line to crash over from close range. Grant converted once more to make it 18-12 at half time.

Two minutes into the second half, Millom's evergreen Chris Warren finished off a superb passing move to score out wide. Brookes made it 4 from 4 for the afternoon.

Hunslet were far from finished in the game and they came back again with Thomas Boardman flying over in the corner to score.

Then pacey winger Tyler Dargin broke clear to score in the corner and Grant converted from the position this time.

No matter how hard Millom tried, they just could not get going again, and they paid the price when Dave Norton barged his way over the line to score, with Grant converting to seal the win.
