PAUL Crarey vowed Barrow Raiders will not throw the towel in as they bid to pick themselves up after last Sunday's 33-26 defeat at home to Swinton Lions.

The match against the previously-winless Lions at Craven Park saw the Raiders lead 18-12 at half time, only for Swinton to take advantage of lapses after the break.

Barrow now have a Challenge Cup tie at home to York City Knights this Sunday to prepare for, followed by a tough run of Betfred Championship games which starts with a trip to Leigh Centurions on April 7.

And head coach Crarey is determined to put things right.

"We can’t pack up at this stage of the season and say we’re all going to pack up and go home, we’ve got to stay there for the fans and everybody else,” said Crarey.

“It doesn’t get any easier for us with our injury situation, but we’ve just got to rock up and stay positive in our camp.

"I know we’ll get a lot of flack from everywhere – me included and probably rightly so with the results we’re having – but they’ve all been pretty close at home, the results we’ve been having.

"You’ve got to perform for one day and get everything right, and we did that in the first half, but the second half, for that first 15 minutes, we lost control of the game.”
