PAUL Crarey is braced for a tough game against York City Knights when they visit Barrow Raiders in the Coral Challenge Cup fourth round on Sunday.

The Knights were 56-0 winners on their own patch in the Betfred Championship meeting between the sides back in February and head to Craven Park full of confidence.

Barrow head coach Crarey expects another test from York, but is in no doubt his side are not far away from returning to winning ways.

"York will be coming and seeing us as an easy challenge," said Crarey. "They're a very good side this year, they've got some quality players who have played Super League and a quality side.

"They have a big turnover of players, but they can play as well. We've just got to tighten our belts whatever side we put out.

"We've just got to tighten our belts and I know it's hard for the Barrow public to take, but I thought it could have gone either way against Swinton. We just didn't manage the game enough to get the win."

The Raiders are set to be without Jordan Walne after he suffered a hamstring injury against Swinton, with Jarrad Stack a doubt.

Walne's absence could see Willie Minoga reprise his role in the second row and Crarey was pleased with how he slotted in there against the Lions.

"Defensively, we didn't know how he'd react, but I thought he did pretty well and ran the ball well," said Crarey.

"What we said we would do is feed him the ball really early and do what we call tramming it up, give him the ball early off a pivot and try to put a dent in their edge then go back on the middle.

"I thought in the first half it worked well, but second half I think we went to him on a really tight play, put the ball down and didn't do it again, and stayed in the middle too often rather than going edge-middle-edge-middle."
