TEE Ritson has handed Paul Crarey a huge boost on the injury front by declaring himself available for Barrow Raiders' Coral Challenge Cup tie at home to York City Knights tomorrow.

The West Cumbrian full-back or winger had been expected to be out for around six weeks after suffering a ligament injury following the 20-20 draw at home to Dewsbury Rams at the end of February.

However, he is set to return after a little over four weeks out, with Tom Walker and Jake Spedding both set to find out this morning if they can feature too after undergoing fitness tests on groin and hamstring injuries respectively on Thursday evening.

"Tee Ritson put his hand up to play on Thursday night, which is credit to the lad," said Raiders head coach Crarey.

"Jake Spedding and Tom Walker have done fitness tests, and if they come through that they'll be included in the squad.

"We're pretty positive about putting in a performance against York."

However, the returns are balanced out by Stargroth Amean, Jarrad Stack and Jordan Walne all being sidelined due to injury following the 33-26 defeat to Swinton Lions last Sunday.

Amean is due to have a scan on his ankle after being seen wearing a boot at training on Thursday, while Walne is waiting to find out the extent of his suspected hamstring injury and Stack's popped rib cartilage has not settled down.

Jono Smith's return has been pushed back to another six to eight weeks after having surgery on his fractured cheekbone too, but Crarey is keeping positive.

"It's like 'Emergency – Ward 10' at the minute, if I'm being honest," said Crarey. "From last week, we've lost Stack, Walne and Amean.

"We're waiting to hear confirmation on who can and can't play, and we've probably got 13 injured front-line players and it's pretty difficult.

"But we've been thorough this before and it's a game we need to put a performance in, whoever we put out, for the fans."
