Hoad Hill Harriers are coming off another busy weekend, with their runners taking part in three different events.

The biggest one of these was the Coniston 14 last Saturday, where around 1,300 runners from across the UK took part in the 13.9-mile road race and 18 of those came from the Harriers.

Lewis Rogers of Loftus and Whitby AC was the fastest across the line in a time of 1 hour, 13 minutes and 32 seconds, a full five minutes ahead of second place, while Eleanor Fowler was the first woman to finish in 01:31:08.

The pick of the Hoadies was Mike Cubin, who finished 53rd in clocking 01:31:21, while Gary Dover (01:32:43) was the fourth-fastest men's over-55 veteran.

Tom Southward was the other runner from the club to finish inside the top 100, coming 93rd with 01:3539, while other significant times included Darren Coward (01:40:26), Nigel Storey (01:44:33) and Mark Bailey (01:48:31).

Earlier in the day, nine Harriers took part in the Ulverston Parkrun, with six of them achieving personal bests.

Connor O'Hara was one of them, finishing second overall in a brilliant 18:56, while the others were Leven Sopwith (21:53), William Sharp (23:19), Robert O'Hara (24:17), Ashleigh Mayvers (29:30) and Carol Hunter (30:10).

Last Sunday, Heather Travis took part in the Lancaster Mothers Day 10km run, where she was the seventh woman home, in a personal best of 45:15.
