BARROW were made to settle for a winning draw from their Northern League Division One match at Fulwood and Broughton.

The visitors were in complete control at Highfield, but could not prevent rain from stopping them claiming the 10 wickets needed for victory.

Batting first, Barrow compiled a total of 151 all out from 47 overs, with their top-three batsmen Robin Adams (39), Toby Mowat (22) and Ryan Gilmour (38) contributing most of the runs.

Of the other batsmen, only Greg Reynolds reached double-figures as the home side looked to assert themselves. Arbab Munir was impressive with the ball, taking 7 for 58 from 16 overs.

However, Mowat and Daryl Wearing took control with the ball to reduce the hosts to 38 for 5 after 16 overs. The score had moved on to 62 for 6 after 26 overs, but that was when the rains came and prevented Barrow from taking the full points on offer.

Mowat ended with figures of 3 for 26 from 11 overs and Wearing 3 for 14 from 10 overs.
