VICKERSTOWN booked their place in the Marsden Cup final after a thrilling, low-scoring win over Hawcoat Park.

It was a strange game at Rainey Park, with only 147 runs scored between the two teams.

The home side were in first, and were all out in 18 overs for 76. Dean Litherland, with 22, was the only player to reach double figures.

Hawcoat Park's Callum Muncaster took 5 for 23 in eight overs as the pick of the bowlers.

The visitors' innings was almost a carbon-copy of their opponents', as they were all out for 71 in 27 overs. Adam Hunter top-scored with 18.

Vickerstown skipper Gareth Benson took four wickets for four runs in eight overs, and Arnie Luxon returned figures of 3 for 19 in six overs.

Dalton A and Egremont A will meet in the Vigodny Cup final after coming through their last-four encounters.

Dalton overcame Cleator at Ulverston Road.

The visitors had first knock and made a steady start, but nobody went on to make a major score and they were all out for 155. Skipper Cameron Bell top-scored with 24. Dalton's Keith Gilliland took 4 for 24 in eight overs.

Dalton soon lost an opener, but Lewis Woodend, 65 not out, and Ross Peoples, 37, got their side out of danger, and with 21 not out from Phil Humphries, they won in the 33rd over at 156 for 3.

Egremont batted first against Whitehaven and lost three of the top four with only four runs between them. But opener Ben Gilmour, with 47, and Jason Norman, 59, rescued their side.

With veteran Ian Littleton making an unbeaten 40, Egremont were 197 for 9 when overs ran out. Whitehaven's Steve Rumney took 4 for 20 in eight overs.

In reply, Whitehaven were soon 39 for 3, and with skipper Jason Spires' top-scoring with 25, his side were all out in the 34th over for 154. Carl Jackson, 3 for 32, and Matthew Lancaster, 3 for 38, were the top wicket-takers.
